Thematic Session at the XXI UISPP World Congress

At the XXI UISPP World Congress in Poznan (Poland), the Preventive Archaeology commission is organizing the workshop 'Proposal for a "Charter of Preventive Archaeology"' (Thematic Session 1J). The workshop aims to lay the groundwork for an international Charter of Preventive Archaeology that establishes shared principles for the assessment, management, and protection of archaeological remains ahead of development projects. It will also address the need to distinguish preventive from rescue archaeology and to define appropriate professional training, with a view to developing a framework that can be adopted and ratified by different countries.
